Decent travel, some room for improvement

I booked a flight and hotel package to Madrid. The booking process on their website was fairly straightforward, though I had a minor hiccup with selecting specific hotel dates that wasn't immediately clear. Delivery of the e-tickets was instant. The flight itself, Premium Economy, was comfortable enough for the long journey. The legroom was a noticeable improvement. On the return, I tried to change my seat online but ran into some issues and ended up calling customer service. The wait was a bit long, but the agent was helpful and got it sorted. Overall, a solid experience, but the website could be more intuitive for booking modifications.

Reliable flight, a few snags

I flew Economy Class to Latin America. The price was competitive, and the flight departed and arrived on time, which is always a big plus for international travel. The check-in process at the airport was a bit slow, though, and I felt the gate agents could have been more efficient. The in-flight meal was okay, nothing special, but it served its purpose. I also bought extra baggage allowance online, and that worked smoothly. Overall, I got where I needed to go without major issues, but the ground operations could be slicker.

Got to Spain, no fuss

Needed to get to Spain for a holiday, so I just grabbed an Economy flight. The whole thing was pretty chill. Found a good deal online, clicked through, and that was it. Flight was fine, got a snack, watched a movie. Landed without any drama. Exactly what you want, you know?

Amazing flight to Barcelona!

I just flew Economy Class to Barcelona and had such a great time! The flight was smooth, the cabin crew were super friendly, and the onboard entertainment kept me busy the whole way. I'm already planning my next trip with them! Seriously, you should try Iberia; it was fantastic!

Consistent flight experience

Booked another Business Class flight to Madrid, and it was pretty much what I expected. The service was good, just like my previous trips. No surprises, which is a good thing for long-haul travel. The seats were comfortable and the food was decent. It's why I keep coming back for transatlantic flights.

planning a trip to europe with a layover in madrid, can i actually do a stopover there for a few days or is that just for certain fares?

S Sandra H. 1 week ago
From what I remember, they do have a stopover program for Madrid. You probably have to specifically book it though, it's not just a standard layover thing.

Yeah, I did it last year! You can add a stopover in Madrid for a few days at no extra flight cost, you just pick that option when you're searching flights, I think it's called 'stopover Madrid' on their site.

Is Iberia a decent airline for long-haul? Like, compared to Lufthansa or British Airways?

A Andrew 1 week ago
They're part of Oneworld with BA, so kinda similar experience in some ways. I'd say they're generally reliable. Food on long haul is usually included, which is nice.

I've flown them to Latin America a few times. They're solid, not super luxurious but get the job done. I'd put them on par with Air France or TAP. Definitely better than some of the budget transatlantic carriers.

Can you use Avios points and a promo code on the same booking? Trying to maximize savings for a business class flight.

J Josh Sanchez 2 weeks ago
Nah, pretty sure you can't double-dip like that. It's usually one or the other. I've tried before and it didn't work.

M Michelle Harris 2 weeks ago
Unfortunately, most of their promo codes specifically say they can't be combined with Avios payments. You usually have to pick which one gives you the better deal for that particular flight.

Does Iberia have a student discount? Trying to save some cash on a flight to Barcelona.

P Paul P. 3 weeks ago
Pretty sure they do! I remember seeing something about it. You might need to verify your student status with some service.

S Sean P. 2 weeks ago
Yes, they do offer a student discount! You usually have to sign up through some partner platform or provide student ID when booking. Check their site, it should be under 'offers' or 'discounts'.

how strict are they with carry-on bags? i usually bring a backpack and a small suitcase, wondering if i'll get hassled.

K Kyle E. 1 month ago
Generally, if it fits in the overhead bin and under the seat, you're fine. They can be a bit strict if it's clearly oversized, especially on fuller flights.

J Justin P. 1 month ago
I've never had an issue with a standard carry-on and a backpack. As long as they're not huge and you can lift your main bag yourself, you're usually good to go.

Hey, thinking of booking a flight to Madrid. Are the Black Friday deals usually good? Like, is it worth waiting or should I just book now?

K Karen Flores 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they usually have some decent sales around Black Friday, I've seen up to 40% off on some routes in the past. But it's not guaranteed for every flight, sometimes it's specific destinations.

D Daniel R. 2 weeks ago
i think it really depends on when you wanna fly. if your dates are super flexible, wait. if you need specific days, might be risky. they don't always apply to everything.
